Students will receive a reading log on the first day of every week. Third graders should be expected to read 30 minutes everyday. If you look at the charts below, the minimum that students should be reading each night is 20 minutes. Every night, students should mark on their reading log what book they read, along with parent initials to confirm that the students did the reading. Students should return their reading log every Friday.

TWENTY MINUTES A DAY
Reading to your student is a key component to increasing their learning. Please plan on reading at least 20 minutes everyday. If you are in a place where you can't read to them, have them read to you. It is very easy to incorporate into everyday life. Read while dinner is cooking. Read while in the car. Read to family, friends, and neighbors. Encourage your student to read as often as they can. |
Math Homework - Found in PlannersStudents will receive 5 math problems a day in their planner that focus on multiplication fluency. It shouldn't take the students a very long time to complete. If they get stuck, you can remind them to use groups to help solve the problem. See below for an example.
